Throw back to my previous Tokyo trip in Nov, we went to the Planetarium in Sunshine City. I marked this place for a long time when I heard Konica had launched this in Tokyo.
It is not only a theatre but it provides both educational / entertainment show with aromatic smells for healing experience. It is direct managed by Konica Minolta of the planetarium technology. You can enjoy and relaxed under the starry sky and aromatic smells. Because healing planetarium show is targeted for adult only, so small children are not allow for healing planetarium. So let’s see how it’s actually works.
Continue of my previous Hokkaido trip, our final stop was Tokyo. After the late arrived from Sapporo to Tokyo, I decided to visit the amazing Christmas lights in Shibuya and Shinjuku. Both are located pretty close to the JR station. So I would like to show you how lovely these are.
SPOT 1: SHIBUYA – TERRACE CITY ILLUMINATIONS
That’s the first time I experienced Tokyo’s Christmas and everywhere is full of Christmas vibes. One of the prettiest decoration would be Shibuya Terrace City. It is located in front of Lumine2 exit in Shibuya JR station. If you exit in Lumine 1 you probably might not able to see it, so beware of the correct exit.
Everywhere is decorated with thousands of little light bulbs. Just like I entered in a Pink wonderland. I think I don’t need to say much but just show you how incredible this place was. It last until 2017 Feb 14th, so don’t miss out if you will be around even early next year! I also uploaded a vlog below showed how beautiful it was.
Continued my trip in Hokkaido, after my first post of Christmas festival in Hakodate, we went to visit the second Christmas festival in Sapporo. It is situated in Odori Park, which is in front of clock tower. (I took the above shot from there) It is amazingly huge and there are lots of different food counters, gifts counters and a live band as well. It was known as a Munich Christmas Festival in Sapporo. Also don’t miss out the Christmas tree and the heart shape Christmas wheel in font! It is the best photo shoot spot!
The environment is full of Christmas vibes with such a huge Christmas tree in the middle. Unlike the normal Christmas tree, it was decorated with thousands of little light bulbs. Sure you can see it from very far away. There’s also a Santa photo corner in front of the Christmas tree. It’s a great spot to have a shot with Santa! It’s such a pity that I didn’t have a chance to take a shot as there’re lots of people. I took a video showed how great it was!
Hey guys! I haven’t updated my blog this December as I was traveling in Tokyo and Hokkaido last week. I took lots of shots and things to share before this coming Christmas! I know you can’t wait for it, so let’s start with something related to Christmas which is the Christmas festival I just visited in Hakodate and Sapporo. I will post another one tomorrow.
So a little introduction of my trip before getting into the Christmas festival. I travelled from Tokyo to Hokkaido by using the JR South East Hokkaido Rail pass, it allows you to use for any 6 days within the chosen 14 days. This is something only benefit to tourist! It sounds something interesting wasn’t it? I will post on how this work in my next post so don’t miss that out! It can save the travel budget if you tend to visit different spots in Japan. Also it just launched in MAR only!
Anyways, let’s get into the topic. So I have visited 5 spots in this trip which is Tokyo -> Hakodate -> Noboribetsu -> Otaru -> Sapporo. Today I would like to show you how amaze the Christmas festival in Japan!
This is our first spot when we arrived in Hokkaido, it is a very beautiful little city! especially the night view is one that you don’t want to miss! We stayed for a night before we went to appreciate the night view in Hakodate mountain. We walked to Hakodate Bay as there is a Christmas festival at the moment. It was easy to find as you can see a huge Christmas tree from far away! This great huge Fir tree was a present from Canada, Halifax a sister city of Hakodate. It has travelled over 18,000 km!! Besides, the colour of the tree changes every 5 mins. I took several shots when it turns from pink, blue and green.
Continues my last trip in Chiangmai, we went to this restaurant without any planning on our last day, just to find a place that could spend our time for the delayed flight for almost 7 hours! What a nightmare! However because of this delayed, we decided to look for some new dining place that’s close to our hotel.
We have no idea what kind of food they offer but the gorgeous building was attractive enough for me to look into their menu. There are various kinds of Thai food with reasonable prices. Just a sneak peak from the exterior you can either sit outside and inside. So let’s see how’s the interior look and feel.
We were welcomed by their staff with such a friendly smile on their face and they were so attentive. We have to sit interior as the outer seats are full. The restaurant is huge and have a very beautiful environment. There’s a cafe bar on the side and in the middle there’s a long table. I love the interior decoration and obviously this have been well designed. It is so stylish yet tradition with the leak wood Chiangmai design. The lighting of the store is very soft and made us feel so relax to spend our time for our delayed flight! Guess we found a perfect dining place. How exciting this was in such an unexpected situation!
I haven’t visit Tokyo since 6 years ago! Last year my friend and I were lucky enough to buy the low fare ticket. I took a lot of photos and sure will share to all of you! There are too much to share as this is the first post of Tokyo, I would like to pick one of my favorite place – Alice on Wednesday.
Why it named Alice on Wednesday? as the owner think Wednesday is the most boring day of the week which I don’t actually agree as I found Monday is much boring! By naming this gift store on Wednesday was aim to inject some fun and cool to every Wednesday. So Let’s see how I lost in the wonderland!
With such an amazing doors in the exterior, if you ever read Alice in wonderland story, you will find that it has successfully reproduce the world of Alice. There are 4 different sizes of doors with beautiful colors and only one has opened! There’s no rabbit lead you to inside but only the small opened door. I’m tiny enough to get in! yay! Date back from my last trip in Chiangmai during July, this NEW chill out spot in Niman Road. It is situated in front of Eastin Tan Hotel. You might question if this is a PARK? Actually it is not really just a PARK but more than that. It includes lots of cafes and handcrafts creative stores.
The restaurants are owned by Captain Tan, who is the boss of Oishi dining group in Thailand who owned lots of restaurants. Thus you might find his statue in the entrance. The whole environment is so relax, it is not a super big place but takes only 30 minutes walk through the whole area. With lots of small lovely wall paintings along the little shops, is easy to find some nice spot for lovely shot! So let me show you how special this Park is!
It looks totally different in the day & night of this park, you will see what I mean later. Anyways, there are approximately 10 stores and a cafe located at the entrance and for sure you won’t miss out! The weather wasn’t good and is showering at that moment. We went there at 09:00 morning so seems like lots of stores have not yet open. So let me show you a few stores.
Robin & Ruth – This store sell lots of souvenirs. Includes Bags, T-shirst, post cards etc. I am not sure about the price range but I haven’t buy anything from this store as I don’t like to buy some Thailand printed products.
